We only share information with these services to the extent necessary to provide the functionality you have requested. When you provide your own API keys, your journal content is sent directly to the respective AI provider for processing.
Certain features may process data entirely on your device without sending it to our servers or third parties, including Apple Intelligence features (where available) and native text-to-speech. On-device processing is governed by your device manufacturer's privacy policies.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (conversations, messages, personal context, AI memories, and API keys) is permanently deleted from our systems. We do not retain backups of deleted account data.
JournAI is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete that information.
Your data may be processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
